Experiments
One idea per page
Each link is a single version of the homepage. Nothing on that page switches into a different idea. An open is counted once per browser, and the count is shown here.
Map
Three ways to look at the same conflicts. Open one.
- ScanThe map flies into one conflict and waits there, long enough to read the headline. Then it pulls back and flies to the next. Pause keeps it still.Opened 2 times
- SpotlightThe map never moves. One conflict is lit and the rest step back. You choose when to step to the next.Opened 1 time
- FramesEvery conflict is numbered on the map and in the list under it. Pick a number to read that place. Nothing moves on its own.Opened 1 time
Reading
Three ways to put the map and the stories on the page. Open one.
- LedgerA short map for orientation, then the stories. Each story shows its summary, so the reading happens in the list. Not opened yet
- SplitOn a wide screen the map stays beside the stories. On a phone the stories come first, and the map stays behind a button until you ask for it.Not opened yet
- StoryThe top story leads the page. A locator map shows only where that story happened, then the rest of the feed follows. Not opened yet
